As the cold weather took hold, and twinkling lights appeared in our houses and along the High Street, our staff took time away from dealing with boilers, condensation and heating problems and have been busy working to help make Halstead Christmas Fayre and light switch on even more magical for young and old alike, with a festive home scene in our window, a cozy fire glowing, we were ready...
On Saturday 25th the Reindeer in our window were sprinkled with magic and the big man himself was transported to the bottom of the High Street to deliver secret presents to all those good children who came to see him.
As darkness fell, the reindeer interrupted their carrot chomping and Santa appeared in the gardens as if by magic to assist our deputy mayor and a group of children with switching on the lights, spending time in his sleigh for photo opportunities with all those who queued patiently to meet him. Only to disappear in the blink of an eye as he wished all a Merry Christmas and goodnight.
